Rushmore were carved for America's finest classic Champenoise style sparkling wines, J Winery and their Brut Rosé would certainly be recognized, at least in our declaration. At the age of 25, Stanford educated Judy Jordan established this near-literal "offspring" entity to (her father Tom's) Jordan Winery in 1986, and focused traditionally on sustainably producing some of California's best answers to France's Champagne region, in Sonoma's cooler climates of the Russian River Valley. Though J Vineyards & Winery have expanded production to include delicious and provocative "still" versions of Pinot Meunier, Pinotage, Viognier and a dry rosé wine--Vin Gris, their sparkling wines remain atop the conversation of the best and most elegant bottlings from America, maintaining rarified esteem for their label.
