Wawa Hoagie Day on Independence Mall
Wawa, Philadelphia’s favorite local convenience store chain, will be giving away six tons of free Wawa hoagies on Thursday, June 29. Head to Independence Mall, home to the Independence Hall and the National Constitution Center, to see police and firefighters go head to head in a hoagie-building competition and, of course, to sample a free hoagie.
Free Fireworks at Penn’s Landing
Just steps from Penn’s View Hotel, Penn’s Landing is a waterfront area of Center City and perfect for enjoying summer weather. On Friday, June 30, the Philadelphia Orchestra will put on a free performance along the Delaware River, with a fireworks display to follow.
Movie Screening at the Philadelphia Museum of Art
The 1976 movie Rocky made the steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art one of the most iconic filming locations in history. Visit the famous museum steps for the screening of the renowned film on Sunday, July 2. Arrive early to check out current exhibitions on view, including works by Cy Twombly and Marcel Duchamp.
Fourth of July Fireworks
The sky above the Philadelphia Museum of Art will light up on Tuesday, July 4 in celebration of America’s 241st birthday. Catch performances by Mary J. Blige and The Philly POPS at the Wawa Welcome America July 4th Concert, then enjoy one of the most fantastic fireworks displays in America’s birthplace from 9:30pm until 10pm.
Hit the Beach at Spruce Street Harbor Park
This August, beat the heat at Spruce Street Harbor Park, one of the best urban beaches in America. Set on the Delaware River, enjoy hammocks, food trucks, beer gardens, and more.
